Rich or poor, what we do is what’s important. Let’s be the hand of compassion and community for those around us.

Helping others does more than you think: it creates joy – in the people being helped, and in those doing the helping.

Community: Getting things done together – in every town, business and project. Pick a goal, and work on it together.

People come in all sizes, shapes and styles, and together we make up the world-wide community. No matter what, at our core, we know that each and every person has value. We are all the same size inside.

The problems in our economy and society are largely due to bad policy decisions that favoured giant corporations and the rich. It left so little for the rest of us that we are squeezed financially and stressed socially.

To all the politicians and business leaders, hear this well:
Whatever you do next it’s got to be good for the people.

Here’s to compassionate and inclusive business decisions and policies that focus on what regular people need.

Every child needs care today and a bright tomorrow. We have children in poverty and an economy that has little room for them. We need all children, rich and poor, to be cared for, and to share a generous future.

Let’s keep the focus for this election on what we all need: a real economy. If politicians are talking about other things let’s remind them what hard working people need: a real economy, with jobs for everyone.

It is the spirit with which we dance, and not the grace of our bodies, that makes us human.
